CVE-2022-4190Network attack vector

File-system restriction bypass via Directory validation

Published Nov 29, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Insufficient data validation in Chrome's Directory component before 108.0.5359.71 allows remote attackers to bypass file-system restrictions. The public record identifies Directory as the faulty locus but does not disclose which input is accepted or how validation fails because the linked issue remains restricted. Exploitation requires a user to load a crafted HTML page; the published consequence is limited to bypassing browser-enforced file-system restrictions.
