Process crash via oversized pooling sequences
Published Nov 18, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in TensorFlow before 2.8.4, 2.9.0 through 2.9.2, and 2.10.0 allows attackers to crash the process via oversized pooling sequences. FractionalMaxPoolGrad fails to verify that the row and column pooling-sequence element product fits within orig_input before traversing a pooling region. Attackers must be able to supply tensor arguments to the operation; the demonstrated consequence is a process crash, not disclosure of memory contents.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
