CVE-2022-41885Network attack vector

Process crash via oversized tensor dimensions

Published Nov 18, 2022 · Updated Apr 22, 2025

Incorrect buffer size calculation in TensorFlow before 2.7.4, 2.8.0 through 2.8.1, or 2.9.0 through 2.9.1 allows remote attackers to cause a service interrupt via FusedResizeAndPadConv2D. The FusedResizeAndPadConv2D kernel multiplies dimensions from attacker-controlled large tensor shapes without preventing integer overflow, producing an invalid allocation calculation. Exploitation requires a remotely reachable application that accepts attacker-supplied tensors; the observed consequence is process crash or denial of service, with no confidentiality or integrity impact reported.
