Suppressed username disclosure via rollback error
Published May 29, 2023 · Updated Jan 14, 2025
Information disclosure in MediaWiki 1.37.0 through 1.37.4 and 1.38.0 through 1.38.2 allows remote authenticated users to read suppressed usernames. RollbackPage inserts the hidden revision author's name into the alreadyrolled error instead of substituting the generic rev-deleted-user label when suppression applies. Rollback permission and a suppressed null-revision author are required, and the response exposes only that account name.
