CVE-2022-41743

Worker memory corruption via crafted HLS media

Published Oct 19, 2022 · Updated May 8, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in F5 NGINX Plus ngx_http_hls_module before R27 P1 and R26 P1 allows local users to crash a worker. The module writes outside its allocated memory region while processing a crafted audio or video file, but F5 has not disclosed the specific parser operation or code locus. The hls directive must be enabled, and the attacker must have local access and be able to trigger module processing; reported effects are worker memory corruption and a worker-process crash, while other impact is unspecified.
