Authenticated file disclosure via import_file path traversal
Published Nov 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 29, 2025
Path traversal in Frappe Framework 14.10.0 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary local files through import_file. The affected import flow accepts an attacker-controlled path in the import_file parameter without validating that it remains within an allowed directory, then opens the referenced server file. A low-privileged authenticated session is required, and successful exploitation discloses files readable by the Frappe process without changing them.
