Unauthenticated translation settings update
Published Nov 28, 2022 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Theme and plugin translation for Polylang 3.2.16 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter translation settings. The process_polylang_theme_translation_wp_loaded() function handles requests without capability checks, permitting plugin and theme translation updates and translation-string imports. The requests require no authentication or user interaction and can change site translation data, producing integrity and availability effects without reported confidentiality access.
