Cookie theft via back_url reflected XSS
Published Oct 31, 2022 · Updated May 2, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Forma LMS 3.0.1 through 3.1.0 allows remote attackers to steal user cookies via a crafted back_url parameter. The appLms/index.php?modname=faq&op=play handler reflects back_url into a web response without neutralizing script content, allowing injected JavaScript to execute in a user's browser. Exploitation requires a victim to request the crafted link; the demonstrated consequence is cookie disclosure that can enable application login, with no reported service disruption.
