Code execution via unneutralized CSV formulas
Published Nov 29, 2022 · Updated Apr 25, 2025
CSV formula injection in Raiden MAILD Mail Server 4.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through exported form data. The website's form-export function writes attacker-supplied form content into CSV cells without neutralizing formula elements, so spreadsheet software interprets the content when another user opens the export. A general user account is required to submit the content, and another user must export and open the CSV before code runs on that user's system, enabling arbitrary operations or service interruption.
