Local code execution via path-traversal DLL loading
Published Nov 4, 2022 · Updated Apr 30, 2025
Path traversal in SGIUtility in EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert and Pro-face BLUE 3.3 Hotfix 1 and earlier allows local users to execute code. SGIUtility fails to confine a DLL pathname to its intended directory and consequently loads an attacker-supplied library. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access to a Windows engineering workstation and has high complexity; successful loading executes attacker code in the affected runtime's context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
