CVE-2022-41666

Local code execution via malicious DLL loading

Published Nov 4, 2022 · Updated May 2, 2025

Improper signature verification in EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert and Pro-face BLUE through V3.3 Hotfix 1 allows local users to execute code. The software accepts and loads an attacker-supplied DLL without properly verifying its cryptographic signature; Schneider Electric has not identified the affected component or loading path. Exploitation requires local user privileges on a Windows engineering workstation and runs malicious code in the context of the affected software.
