Missing encryption in all AliveCor KardiaMobile versions allows physically proximate attackers to read ECG results or disrupt recordings. The device sends ECG data to a smartphone through an unencrypted data-over-sound protocol, exposing the signal to nearby capture and frequency interference. Exploitation requires the attacker to be within five feet; eavesdropping discloses patient ECG data, while emitted sounds prevent accurate microphone reception.
