Fingerprint service disruption via malformed file content
Published Oct 14, 2022 · Updated May 14, 2025
Memory-safety flaws in the fingerprint trusted application in HarmonyOS 2.0 and EMUI 11.0.1 and 12.0.0 allow attackers to disrupt fingerprint service. The application mishandles attacker-controlled file content, causing a heap overflow, out-of-bounds read, or null-pointer dereference; Huawei has not disclosed a narrower code locus. Exploitation requires root permission and can make the fingerprint service operate abnormally, with no published evidence of broader compromise.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
