Service interruption via DFX stack interface misuse
Published Oct 14, 2022 · Updated May 14, 2025
Interface misuse in Huawei ArkCompiler's DFX unwind stack in HarmonyOS 2.0 and EMUI 12.0.0 allows remote attackers to interrupt system services. Huawei identifies interface misuse but does not disclose which interface is called incorrectly or how input triggers exceptional handling. Unauthenticated network reachability is sufficient without user interaction, and exploitation can interrupt system services and make the device unavailable.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
