Out-of-bounds write in the MPTCP module in Huawei HarmonyOS 2.0 and 2.1 and EMUI 11.0.1 and 12.0.0 allows attackers to gain root privileges. The MPTCP module writes beyond an intended memory boundary and modifies program information; Huawei has not disclosed the faulty function or triggering input. The published assessment treats the path as network-reachable without authentication or user interaction, and successful exploitation grants root-level control.
