CVE-2022-41568Network attack vector

Client crash via invalid group-chat E2EE key

Published Nov 29, 2022 · Updated Apr 25, 2025

Denial of service in LINE client for iOS before 12.17.0 allows remote attackers to crash the app via a group-chat E2EE key. The group-chat E2EE shared-key path accepts an invalid shared key and processes it in a way that terminates the client. Delivery requires participation in a group chat, and the documented consequence is an application crash without confidentiality or integrity impact.
