Database disclosure via unescaped user identifier
Published Dec 26, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025
SQL injection in Contest Gallery and Contest Gallery Pro before 19.1.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to read database data. The ajax-functions-backend.php handler concatenates the unescaped user_id POST value directly into an SQL query, allowing injected expressions to execute against the WordPress database. An account with at least the Author role and a valid request nonce is required; the demonstrated time-based query provides an oracle for extracting sensitive database contents.
