Internal service access via deceptive URL authority
Published Oct 13, 2022 · Updated May 15, 2025
Server-side request forgery in iCMS 7.0.16 allows remote authenticated users to make the server request arbitrary URLs through admincp.php. The spider_tools::remote method passes a URL to cURL after safe_url approves it, while a crafted authority containing multiple at-signs directs the request to a private address. The published proof of concept supplies an administrator cookie, so reachability depends on administrative-interface access and exposes services reachable from the server.
