Script execution via unneutralized question title
Published Oct 17, 2022 · Updated May 14, 2025
Stored XSS in xzs 3.8.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser through a crafted question title. The /admin/question/edit endpoint accepts arbitrary HTML or script in the Title field and renders the stored value without neutralizing executable markup. Access to the question editor and a victim who views the saved question are required; exploitation exposes data and actions available to the victim's browser session.
