Secret decryption via hard-coded Blowfish key
Published Apr 28, 2023 · Updated Jan 31, 2025
Use of a hard-coded cryptographic key in Sage 300 through 2022 allows attackers to decrypt secrets used by optional web features. Web Screens and Global Search reuse the fixed 40-byte Blowfish key LandlordPassKey to encrypt and decrypt secrets in configuration files and database tables. Access to those encrypted files or rows is required; recovering their plaintext exposes only the secrets stored there.
