Script execution via crafted administrative GET requests
Published Apr 11, 2023 · Updated Oct 23, 2024
Cross-site scripting in the FortiOS and FortiProxy administrative interface allows remote attackers to execute script via crafted HTTP GET requests. Fortinet identifies the GUI as the affected component but has not disclosed which GET parameter is reflected or how the interface fails to neutralize it. Exploitation requires an administrative-interface user to load the crafted request, allowing attacker-supplied script to run in that user's browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=6.2.0 <=6.2.12
- Affected versionversion=6.4.0 <=6.4.11
- Affected versionversion=7.0.0 <=7.0.9
