Network-share credential disclosure via registry storage

Sensitive information exposure in Veritas System Recovery 18 and 21 allows local users to obtain a configured network-destination password. During backup configuration, VSR stores the password in the Windows registry without adequately restricting access by Windows users with sufficient privileges. The exposed credential grants access to a network file system that the user is not authorized to access.
