CVE-2022-41317Network attack vector

Client information disclosure via internal URI ACL bypass

Published Dec 25, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025

Information disclosure in Squid 4.9 through 4.17 and 5.0.6 through 5.6 allows remote authenticated users to read cache manager data. Cache-manager routing handles internal HTTPS URIs inconsistently, so a request for the /squid-internal-mgr/ path bypasses the manager ACL and reaches protected records. Access requires trusted proxy-client privileges and exposes internal network structure, client credentials, identities, and traffic behavior without enabling data changes or service interruption.
