JavaScript execution via stored switch description
Published Feb 7, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Stored XSS in Moxa SDS-3008 Series firmware 2.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript in another user's browser. The Switch Description field inserts the stored switch_description value inside a quoted JavaScript string without neutralizing script-breaking input. High-privileged access is required to save the value, and another user's browser must load the page; the script can steal session tokens or falsify displayed data.
