CVE-2022-41291

User impersonation via logout session persistence

Published Oct 7, 2022 · Updated Sep 16, 2024

Session expiration failure in IBM InfoSphere Information Server 11.7 allows remote authenticated users to impersonate another user after logout. The logout flow fails to invalidate the active session, allowing its existing session credential to continue authorizing requests. Exploitation requires authenticated access and possession of another user's still-valid session credential; the resulting access carries that user's privileges.
