Code execution via out-of-bounds CGM read
Published Dec 13, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Siemens JT2Go and Teamcenter Visualization allows attackers to execute code through a crafted CGM file. CGM_NIST_Loader.dll reads beyond a buffer boundary while parsing the file; Siemens has not disclosed the affected routine or missing bounds check. Affected releases are JT2Go before 14.1.0.6 and Teamcenter Visualization 13.2 before 13.2.0.12, 13.3 before 13.3.0.8, 14.0 before 14.0.0.4, and 14.1 before 14.1.0.6; a user must open the file, and code runs as the application process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
