CVE-2022-41279

Local denial of service via CGM null dereference

Published Dec 13, 2022 · Updated Apr 21, 2025

Null pointer dereference in Siemens JT2Go and Teamcenter Visualization before the listed fixed releases allows attackers to crash the application via a crafted CGM file. CGM_NIST_Loader.dll dereferences a null pointer while parsing specially crafted CGM input, causing the viewer process to terminate. Exploitation requires a local user to open the file, so the impact is a local application denial of service without stated confidentiality or integrity loss.
