System takeover via persistent default login credentials
Published Mar 27, 2023 · Updated Feb 19, 2025
Use of a default password in ABB RCCMD before 4.40 230207 allows remote attackers with system-network access to take control. The access-control mechanism accepts the password proposed during installation without an effective safeguard against continued default use. Access to the system network is required; successful authentication permits arbitrary code execution and can stop the affected system node.
