Stored script execution via unescaped API responses
Published Sep 21, 2022 · Updated May 28, 2025
Stored XSS in Jenkins Walti Plugin 1.0.1 and earlier allows attackers to execute browser script via malicious Walti API responses. The plugin stores information returned by the Walti API and renders it in Jenkins without output escaping, allowing markup and script to reach the page. Exploitation requires control of Walti API responses and user interaction with the affected Jenkins content; executed script can read or modify data available to the viewer.
