Application crash via out-of-bounds JT file read
Published Oct 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in JT file parsing in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer 9 allows attackers to crash the application via a manipulated file. JTReader.x3d reads crafted JT data past the end of an allocated buffer because memory bounds are not enforced during parsing. Exploitation requires a user to open the file; the Viewer remains unavailable until the application is restarted.
