Application crash via out-of-bounds OBJ read
Published Oct 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in ObjTranslator.exe in SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Viewer 9 allows attackers to crash the application via a crafted OBJ file. The OBJ parser reads past the end of an allocated buffer when processing crafted data, reflecting the product's improper memory management. Exploitation requires a user to open the untrusted file, and the resulting service interrupt lasts until the desktop application is restarted.
