Remote code execution via malformed DWG parsing
Published Oct 11, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024
SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Author version 9 contains memory-management flaws that allow attackers to execute code via manipulated AutoCAD DWG files. TeighaTranslator.exe mishandles untrusted DWG data, enabling a stack-based overflow or dangling-pointer reuse against overwritten memory. Code execution requires a victim to open the file received from an untrusted source; the flaw is therefore client-side rather than a directly reachable network service.
