CVE-2022-4116Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Code execution via cross-origin configuration write

Published Nov 22, 2022 · Updated Apr 29, 2025

Code injection in Red Hat Quarkus before 2.13.5.Final and 2.14.0 through 2.14.1.Final allows context-dependent attackers to execute code. The Dev UI Config Editor accepts an unauthenticated cross-origin form POST that rewrites application.properties; live reload then uses the attacker-supplied H2 JDBC URL to fetch and execute SQL that invokes an OS command. Exploitation requires Dev Mode to be running while a developer visits a crafted webpage, and successful execution runs with the developer process's privileges.
