Stored XSS via unsanitized calendar settings
Published Jun 27, 2023 · Updated Nov 27, 2024
Stored XSS in Editorial Calendar before 3.8.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in higher-privileged admin browsers. The edcal_saveoptions AJAX action stores unsanitized settings such as wheel-support and later inserts them into the Calendar page without output escaping. Contributor access and a valid Calendar-page nonce are required; the script runs when a higher-privileged user opens that admin page.
