Code execution via U3D buffer overwrite
Published Jan 26, 2023 · Updated Apr 1, 2025
Out-of-bounds write in PDF-XChange Editor 9.4.362.0 allows remote attackers to execute code through crafted U3D content. The U3D parser writes crafted data past the end of an allocated buffer while processing a U3D file or U3D stream embedded in a PDF. Exploitation requires the target to visit malicious content or open a malicious file, and resulting code runs in the current process context.
