CVE-2022-41093

Local privilege escalation through ALPC race condition

Published Nov 9, 2022 · Updated Aug 10, 2026

Race condition in Microsoft Windows ALPC allows local users with low privileges to elevate privileges across affected Windows releases. Microsoft has not published the exact ALPC code locus or the incorrect shared-resource operation that creates the timing window. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access, no user interaction, and winning a high-complexity race; successful exploitation crosses a security boundary.
