Unauthenticated remote code execution
Published Oct 11, 2022 · Updated Jan 2, 2025
Remote code execution in Microsoft Windows Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol allows remote attackers to execute code via crafted PPTP traffic. Microsoft has not published the vulnerable function, memory-safety failure, or packet field whose handling permits code execution. The target must expose a PPTP endpoint, normally TCP port 1723, and exploitation requires no authentication or user interaction but has high attack complexity.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
