Arbitrary post creation via unchecked AJAX handler
Published Jan 9, 2023 · Updated Apr 9, 2025
Missing authorization in Royal Addons for Elementor before 1.3.56 allows remote authenticated users to create arbitrary WordPress posts. The wpr_create_template admin-AJAX handler accepts the requested post type and title without a capability check, CSRF check, or template-only restriction. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and exploitation writes attacker-chosen posts or other post types into the site.
