Arbitrary post deletion via unchecked template action
Published Jan 9, 2023 · Updated Apr 9, 2025
Missing authorization in Royal Addons for Elementor before 1.3.56 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary WordPress posts. The wpr_delete_template AJAX action accepts template_slug and template_library values without capability or CSRF checks and does not verify that the resolved post is a template before deletion. Subscriber-level access and knowledge of a target post slug are sufficient; exploitation removes site content but does not disclose it or execute code.
