Authenticated command execution via unbounded DetranCLI formatting
Published Jan 26, 2023 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Siretta QUARTZ-GOLD G5.0.1.5-210720-141020 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands. The gre-index DetranCLI handler passes attacker-controlled address and description arguments to sprintf in a fixed 0x80-byte stack buffer without a length bound. Administrative access to the network CLI is required; successful corruption permits commands to run with the router process's authority.
