CVE-2022-40983Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Code execution via Reflect.apply allocation overflow

Published Jan 12, 2023 · Updated Mar 5, 2025

Integer overflow in the QML QtScript Reflect API in The Qt Company Qt Framework 6.3.2 allows remote attackers to execute code. Reflect.apply passes an attacker-controlled array-like length to createListFromArrayLike, where signed pointer arithmetic wraps during stack allocation and corrupts memory. Exploitation requires an application to load attacker-controlled QML or JavaScript, such as through a malicious web page, and can crash the process or execute arbitrary code.
