CVE-2022-40979Network attack vector

Password disclosure via Perforce environment logging

Published Sep 23, 2022 · Updated Aug 3, 2024

Information exposure in JetBrains TeamCity before 2022.04.4 allows remote authenticated users to disclose password parameters through logs. When a custom Perforce executable is configured, TeamCity can log password-type environment-variable values instead of masking them. Reaching the flaw requires low privileges and user interaction with a Perforce workflow; retained logs can reveal stored secrets.
