Unauthenticated security bypass via trusted proxy headers
Published Dec 12, 2022 · Updated Apr 14, 2025
IP spoofing in TeamUpdraft AIOS before 5.0.8 allows remote attackers to bypass IP-based security controls via crafted proxy headers. The get_user_ip_address() method accepts attacker-supplied HTTP_X_REAL_IP or HTTP_X_FORWARDED_FOR values as the request source without establishing a trusted proxy boundary. Unauthenticated requests can therefore evade configured IP blocks, rate limits, and brute-force protections while attribution records the spoofed address.
