Stored XSS via inline uploaded document rendering
Published Sep 29, 2022 · Updated May 20, 2025
Stored XSS in dutchcoders transfer.sh 1.4.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script via a malicious uploaded document. The inline handler in server/handlers.go serves extensionless uploads inline without forcing text/plain when stored metadata lacks a content type, causing browsers to interpret attacker-controlled HTML. Exploitation requires a victim to open the crafted /inline/ URL and interact with its content, exposing data and actions available to that browser origin.
