Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked wanSpeed length
Published Oct 27, 2022 · Updated May 7, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AX1803 1.0.0.1 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted HTTP request. The /goform/AdvSetMacMtuWan handler passes an unchecked wanSpeed value to sub_8C6C8, where its length is not validated before it overruns the stack. An unauthenticated POST reaches the handler, and the published proof of concept uses overwritten control data to invoke system with an attacker-supplied command.
