Remote code execution via unchecked parameter copy
Published Sep 23, 2022 · Updated May 22, 2025
Stack overflow in Tenda W20E 15.11.0.6 allows remote authenticated users to crash the router or execute code via IPMacBindIndex. The formIPMacBindDel handler passes the request parameter to strcpy, which copies it into a 128-byte stack buffer without checking its length. The published proof of concept first authenticates to the web interface, and an oversized value can interrupt routing service or corrupt control flow for code execution.
