CVE-2022-40865Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unchecked schedule parameters

Published Sep 23, 2022 · Updated May 27, 2025

Heap overflow in Tenda AC15 and AC18 firmware 15.03.05.19 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via crafted Wi-Fi schedule parameters. setSchedWifi allocates 25 bytes, then uses strcpy to copy attacker-controlled schedStartTime and schedEndTime values at offsets 2 and 10 without length checks. The published proofs of concept first authenticate as an administrator; oversized values can corrupt the heap, crash the router, or enable code execution.
