Authenticated code execution via unchecked page formatting
Published Sep 23, 2022 · Updated May 22, 2025
Stack overflow in Tenda AC15 and AC18 15.03.05.19 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted NAT settings request. The fromNatStaticSetting handler passes the page parameter to sprintf, which writes a redirect URL into a 256-byte stack buffer without checking its size. Administrative-interface access and valid credentials are required; successful exploitation can execute code or crash the router.
