Authenticated code execution via unchecked list copy
Published Sep 23, 2022 · Updated May 22, 2025
Stack overflow in Tenda AC18 firmware 15.03.05.19 allows remote authenticated users to execute code or crash the router via a crafted list parameter. The SetNetControlList handler passes the list value through formSetQosBand into FUN_0007db78, where strcpy copies it into a 256-byte stack buffer without checking its length. Administrator credentials are required; overflowing the buffer can execute code or interrupt service by crashing the router.
