Remote code execution via unchecked ssid copy
Published Sep 23, 2022 · Updated May 22, 2025
Stack overflow in Tenda AC18 firmware 15.03.05.19 allows remote attackers to execute code or interrupt service via crafted ssid input. The form_fast_setting_wifi_set handler copies the request's ssid parameter into fixed 64-byte stack buffers with strcpy and no length check, permitting stack corruption. The HTTP management endpoint is network reachable without user interaction according to the published CVSS vector; crafted input can crash the router or provide code execution.
